Blues and Greens is an idea born of a longtable meal shared by a gathering of fifteen friends — artists, doctors and writers — in Harlem, New York in January of 2016. The richness of conversation between the guests was perfectly paced with an incredible parade of vibrant courses served family style. The exchange of ideas, random musings and storytelling revealed treasured values shared across the table.
We promised to recreate the profound experience and playfully named it “Blues and Greens.” Singer and culinary artist Lizz Wright, whose birthday was being celebrated that evening, asked the other attendees whether she could design a platform to repeat and develop the experience.
